Harrington longbows are just that; supple flight bows with shooting characteristics that are peerless.
The approach to building the Harrington Longbows is entirely science-based.
Extensive wood testing has been carried out to determine their properties, for energy storage i.e. stiffness to weight ratio and elasticity their ability to return to their original shape.
Laminates are put together in a sequence that maximizes the energy storage properties of each wood.
The laminates are minutely tapered to even out stresses within the bow limb and are forward set at the construction stage.
The bow thereby starts out on its energy storage curve much earlier than other longbows.
A Harrington English Longbow comes to you with a green cloth bag and performance fastflight string. It also comes with a complete table of performance measurements specific to your bow. Although a number of “off the peg” bows are available, the major part of Neil Harrington’s output is custom built to individual requirements to suit all styles of archery. From performance target bows to out and out flight bows.
A Harrington English Longbow of 100 lb draw weight has shot distances in excess of 340 yards in competition.
