Curtis Salta Bogenschützen

Founded in 1996 the Curtis Salta Archers take their name from ancestral roots going back to the salt trade routes of Saxon times.

Based in Soltau (the salt way) in Lower Saxony, the Curtis Salta Archers are inspired by the ancestral defence of these ancient trade routes, which necessitated all-round skill at arms.

Archery is a major part of this, but the Curtis Salta Archers are also active in sword-fighting, jousting and other Medieval skills at arms.

Curtis Salta Archers organise target shoots, field shoots and shoots at the marks (artillery shoots), using traditional bows.

Medieval and educational events within the local region are also an important activity.

We see ourselves as a like-minded band of brothers (and sisters) for whom the enjoyment of tradition with good humour is the central objective.

Competition and point-scoring is a by-product; enjoyment and glorious shooting is what matters.
Although membership of Curtis Salta is by introduction, the organised events extend a warm welcome to all Archers.
